Discount chains grew in the UK market
Tesco has not seen such an increase in the past three years as in the three months ended on November 8 – portfolio.hu wrote, after Kantar. Although the German discount chains have increased much faster in the UK market during the period, the Tesco could still strengthen its market position.
The German discount chains are increasing in the UK market, but do not threatening Tesco's dominant position yet – according to the latest data from Kantar. Tesco's sales showed a growth that has not seen for three years in the United Kingdom: in the 12 weeks closed on November 8, the UK revenues increased by 2.2 percent, compared to the same period of last year.
