Gábor Békefi will retire from the head of Dreher Breweries in August
After nearly 7 years, the CEO of Dreher Sörgyárak Zrt., Gábor Békefi, is retiring. Under his management, the company’s product portfolio changed radically, efficiency and market share in the key premium segment increased significantly, as well as employer commitment. Thanks to these outstanding results, the largest HUF 100 billion investment in Hungarian beer production was able to start in Kőbánya.
Gábor Békefi was appointed head of Dreher Breweries at the same time as the change of ownership in 2017. Previously, he was Regional Director of The Coca-Cola Company, and then worked as Head of Southeast Europe at Carlsberg. Right from the beginning, he set out to reform the strategy of the long-established company: introducing the Dreher-to-Dreher approach, he focused on premium products and innovation. Under his leadership, the Hungarian company became one of the biggest success stories of Asahi Group Holdings and Asahi Europe & International.
“It was an honor to end my nearly 30-year domestic and international management career at Dreher, which is 170 years old this year, an outstanding company in Hungarian industrial history. Together with the Dreher employee community, we have ensured that one of the country’s richest companies can continue to be successful for the next 30 years. I feel that I am leaving the factory here in good hands”
– said the farewell CEO Gábor Békefi.
