Runner-up jewelry and coffee fizz at the 30th ALDI Women’s Running Gala
Hungary’s most beautiful leisure sports event, the ALDI Women’s Running Gala, will take place for the thirtieth time on Sunday, June 1st, in Népliget, Budapest. A special finisher medal that can also be worn as jewelry was made for the finishers – thus celebrating women’s running, healthy lifestyles and the power of community at the anniversary event. Cafe Frei, as a partner of ALDI, will provide refreshment for all runners and will present the runners with its new generation coffee drinks, Sparkling Coffee products.
The Budapest Sports Office (BSI) first organized the running race specifically for women in 1997. Its unwavering popularity since then clearly shows how great the demand was and is for an event that specifically addresses women. Due to its special, supportive and relaxed atmosphere, the running gala has become a concept in the women’s running community.
– It feels incredibly good to see that this initiative is still so successful and popular three decades later, and that the original mission is still valid today. For many thousands of women, this has become “the capital running race”, a real community celebration. Perhaps it is not an exaggeration to say that this is the most beautiful event of the BSI, seeing the many smiling female faces at the start and at the finish line year after year – highlights the community-building power of the Running Gala, Árpád Kocsis, BSI’s competition director.
The special feature of this year’s event is the unique finisher’s medal designed for the 30th anniversary. The center of this medallion is removable and can be worn on a necklace, so the memory of the achievement remains as a stylish accessory.
The interest in the anniversary race is well demonstrated by the fact that the organizers expect 6,000 participants from more than 500 settlements in the country this year.
