The robotics package of the 18-year-old entrepreneur teaches programming to children in a playful way, last year’s winner of the Solution for Tomorrow challenge was also proven in the popular television program.
The joint program of Samsung and EdisonKids offers students interested in technology the opportunity to collaborate with recognized professionals to create a thinking community and a creative workshop, where they can jointly develop future-shaping solutions. The effectiveness of the initiative is well illustrated by the fact that a business was born from last year’s podium idea. The 18-year-old Zalán Szatmári achieved second place with his team in 2023 with the Learn-O-Bot and the thematic construction kit for future engineers, for which he found a sponsor this year in the person of startupper, investor and mentor Petya Balogh.
At the beginning of summer, we celebrate Hungarian inventors. In mid-June 1941, Albert Szent-Györgyi patented the process of producing vitamin C-containing preparations, the invention for which he previously received the Nobel Prize. Since then, Hungarian innovators have already contributed to the solution of social challenges with numerous developments, however, in order for ideas to become real solutions, a supportive environment and the passing on of the necessary knowledge are needed, especially when it comes to the care of young talents.
