Interpack is over: packaging industry needs to fulfill several expectations
The most significant packaging tradeshow of the world, Interpack has closed its gates on Wednesday evening in Düsseldorf. This put an end to an information-flow lasting from 12th to 18th May, for a total of 166 thousand visitors. More than 100 thousand visitors from abroad have enjoyed the event, among them 400 HUngarian experts.
The three-fourth of visitors are leaders at various companies and institutes. They have all received an outstanding picture of the development and current trends of a versatile industry, thanks to 2 700 exhibitors arriving from 60 countries. Four Hungarian companies have introduced their products to a wide range of international audience: Hacona (Budapest), Hok-plastic (Mórahalom), Pro-Form (Budapest) and Tuplast (Debrecen).
As a Hungarian, I have witnessed a certain pressure coming from two directions. On one hand, developed countries expect the packaging industry to further increase living standards. On the other hand, proper packaging is a key to survival in developed countries: it protects food until it is being consumed.
