Balaton Region: fishing tourism accelerates but the lack of rainfall affects ponds badly
This year 15 to 20 percent more fishing permits were sold at the Lake Balaton, compared to last year, the turnover of fishing ponds deoubled, but the lack of rainfall dried up several ponds – told Füstös Gábor, CEO of the Lake Balaton Fishery Non-Profit Company (BHNp) to MTI on Wednesday.
According to the CEO; the BHNp closed a very difficult, but successful year. While the fishing tourism is booming, the rainfall affects ponds badly. The drought hits the drainage basin of the lake, mostly at the fishing ponds at Irmapuszta – reports MTI.
