Raspberry production in the European Union also felt the frosty spring of this year, with less raspberries produced in Poland and Spain this year, but Moroccan imports also declined. In Hungary, raspberry production fell drastically, in 2021 the area under fruit did not reach 200 hectares, and domestically grown raspberries ran out in mid-July, agrarszektor.hu wrote.

The frosty spring of 2021, like so many other vegetables and fruits, didn’t favor raspberries either. Since last year, the growing area raspberries in several raspberry-growing countries declined, as well as the yield, according to AKI’s latest agricultural market report. Hungarian raspberry growers are in a particularly difficult situation, and it is not only the weather that is causing them more and more problems, Agrárszektor reported. (MTI)
