The fuel and food prices are fueling inflation
The high inflation is mainly caused by the rising fuel prices and the price increases of foodstuffs. The core inflation is still low – told Suppan Gergely to Világgazdaság Online.
The Hungarian National Bank (MNB) is unable to influence these effects, it can only reduce inflationary expectations.
The Friday published December inflation data of the Central Statistical Office have surprised analysts. They measured an annual 4.9 percent inflation, compared to the same period of the previous year, and on monthly basis, consumer price increase was 0.4 percent – reports Világgazdaság Online.
