Kroger was the most visited grocery store in the US in 2023

According to a summary report titled Grocery Sector in 2023 and made by retail data company Placer.ai, almost 19% of annual grocery store sales in 2023 were realised by Kroger and its stores in the US. Florida-based Publix finished second in the ranking, accounting for 17% of total grocery store sales. Safeway (10.5%), Aldi (9.4%) and H-E-B (8.7%) have also made it into the Top 5 of grocery retailers.//
