Unilever uses electricity from renewable sources
Unilever’s factories, offices, R&D facilities, data centers, warehouses and distribution centers on all five continents now use only renewable electricity – the company told MTI on Thursday.
According to the announcement, the company has invested heavily in its energy efficiency programs, which have reduced its total energy use by 28 percent, cutting its carbon dioxide emissions per tonne of finished product by half since 2008. They note that this did not actually add any additional costs, since the savings resulting from constructions similar to PPAs offset the costs involved. (MTI)
