Smoking will be prohibited in Austrian restaurants
Austria’s governing parties have agreed that a general ban on smoking will be introduced in cafes and in restaurants after May 2018.
In addition, smoking will be prohibited in restaurants in exhibition halls, in club rooms, in outdoor events in tents as well, however, the ban does not apply to hotels. The hotels can establish smoking rooms, in which food or drinks will not be served. Those restaurants that are voluntarily introducing tobacco ban until July 2016 will receive financial benefits.
