Austrian Chancellor announces 500 million euros aid package for hospitality and tourism
The Austrian government has announced a 500 million euros aid package to revitalize the hospitality and tourism industry, Chancellor Sebastian Kurz announced at a press conference in Vienna on Monday.
Hospitality is part of the soul and identity of the Austrians, a characteristic of the country, Kurz said. The chancellor also spoke of the fact that the coronavirus pandemic was a major challenge for the industry. He recalled that part-time employment had saved jobs; and at the time of the opening restrictions, the state assumed 75 percent of operating costs. (Noll Katalin, MTI)
