Despite the Russian export ban, EU dairy exports may increase in the region
The coming weeks probably will not produce significant changes on the dairy market. The European Commission in its July short-term view reveals that the global oversupply and price pressure from accumulated stocks can be felt on the EU dairy market and therefore the price of raw milk is not even expected to increase for a few months.
The European Union’s milk production may increase by 1.3 percent to 165.7 million tonnes, while the production of dairy products may increase by 1.4 percent to 153.8 million tonnes in 2016 compared to the previous year. The number of dairy cows may decline by 1.1 percent, to 23.2 million, while the milk yield may improve by 2.4 percent to 7042 kilograms per cow. (by our colleague)
