The reduction of food inflation is also thanks to the online price monitoring system
In addition to the targeted government measures and the actions of the central bank, the moderation of food inflation is due to the active interventions of the Economic Competition Authority (GVH), including the online price monitoring system, the GVH told MTI on Friday.
Based on Friday’s data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH), the increase in food prices fell to less than one-twentieth of the peak of 44.8 percent in December 2022 in just 14 months, they pointed out.
They emphasized that the online price monitor is continuously available this year as well, the system operated by GVH continues to ensure the comparability of prices and contributes to keeping them under control.
In the vast majority of the 62 product categories observed in the price monitor since its launch on July 1, 2023, the average prices have decreased, for some products by 20-30-40 percent, the GVH pointed out.
