The processing sales price of white wines with a protected geographical indication has increased
According to the data of the AKI PÁIR, the sales price of domestically produced and domestically sold wines without a geographical indication, as well as those with a protected geographical indication, rose by 6 percent to HUF 31.1 thousand per hectoliter between January and August 2024 compared to the same period of the previous year. Among the wines with a protected geographical indication, the processing sales price of white wines increased by almost 13 percent to 29.8 thousand forints/hectoliter, and that of red and rosé wines by 14 percent to 36.1 thousand forints/hectoliter.

The sales price of domestically produced and sold abroad wines without a geographical indication, as well as wines with a protected geographical indication, increased by approximately 5 percent to HUF 30.2 thousand per hectoliter in the first eight months of 2024 compared to the year before.
The sales price of white wines with a protected geographical indication increased by about 4 percent to HUF 26.5 thousand/hectoliter
Red and rosé wines with a protected geographical indication were sold at a 9 percent lower price, HUF 25.6 thousand per hectoliter, on the international market during the observed period. Among the wines with a protected designation of origin produced and sold domestically, the average domestic sales price of Tokaj white wines amounted to HUF 150.7 thousand/hectoliter, which did not change significantly between January and August 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. Among red and rosé wines with a protected designation of origin, the average domestic sales price of Eger wines increased by almost 4 percent to HUF 60.3 thousand/hectoliter during the period under review. Among wines with a protected designation of origin produced domestically and sold abroad, the average sales price of Tokaj white wines decreased by 1 percent, HUF 83.8 thousand/hectoliter, between January and August 2024 compared to the same period of the previous year. The sales price of Eger red and rosé wines with a protected designation of origin rose by about 6 percent to HUF 68.4 thousand per hectoliter.
