Lavazza: over 120 years of passion for coffee and a renewed focus on premiumness in the Hungarian market
The Italian coffee roaster has a rich story to share and taste, like a good cup of coffee, and a renewed approach to the local market thanks to its new strategic local partnership.
LAVAZZA: A 120-YEAR-OLD HERITAGE, PASSION FOR QUALITY, INNOVATION AND SUSTAINABILITY
Quality and passion are the values behind every single cup Lavazza serves every day, all over the world. This story begins with Luigi Lavazza who, in the year 1895, in his grocery shop in Turin, invented the concept of blending: the art of combining different coffee varieties and origins to obtain a distinct and consistent product. Following this intuition, Lavazza’s signature Qualità Oro was born in 1956, with the opening of the first Lavazza roasting plant in Turin, becoming the first Lavazza blend produced on a large scale.
Lavazza’s path of innovation, since the breakthrough of blending, has always been closely linked to research and game-changing ideas: from inventing the Italian art of the blend, to the first coffee vacuum-pack, invented in the early decades of the 20th century to keep coffee fresh and unaltered, to being the first coffee roaster to portion instant coffee in Italy.
Side by side with its long tradition and strive to innovation, sustainability is the third element that makes Lavazza coffee truly special. Lavazza has always paid careful attention to the economic, human, environmental and cultural heritage of the countries in which it operates. Over the years, this has translated into concrete action in support of producers and their communities, as well as in meaningful assistance for organizations operating across the globe.
