Consumer price inflation has accelerated in OECD countries
In the member states of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), consumer price inflation accelerated to 1.5 percent year-on-year in January from 1.2 percent in December.
In January, the decline in energy prices slowed to 3.9 percent from 6.5 percent in December, while the rise in food prices slowed to 3.1 percent from 3.2 percent in the previous month.
In OECD countries, inflation excluding food and energy prices in January was 1.7 percent after 1.6 percent in December. (MTI)
