Consumer price inflation has accelerated in OECD countries
In the member states of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), consumer price inflation accelerated to 3.8 percent year-on-year in May from 3.3 percent in April. The figure was still 2.4 percent in March.
In May, energy prices rose at the fastest pace since September 2008, after rising 16.3 percent in April from a year before.
In May, however, the rise in food prices slowed to 1.4 percent from 1.6 percent year-on-year in April. (MTI)
