In the OECD, food price growth slowed from 7.1 percent in November to 6.7 percent in December
In the countries belonging to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the annual growth of consumer prices accelerated to an average of 6 percent in December from 5.8 percent in November, marking the first increase after three months of decline.
According to data published on the website of the Paris-based organization, in December, consumer price increases accelerated in 14 of the 38 OECD countries, stagnated in three and slowed in 21 countries.
In the OECD, energy prices fell by 2.3 percent in December on an annual basis after a 5 percent drop in November. Food price growth slowed from 7.1 percent in November to 6.7 percent in December.
Core inflation excluding food and energy prices was 6.7 percent in December after 6.8 percent in November.
Inflation in the G7 countries was 3.2 percent in December after 3.1 percent in November.
