A different office – but ULINK is the same!
This May was no different than the fifth month in former years: May is a ULINK month, the month when members of a special network meet – those who used to be Unilever employees or still are. This year the venue was a new office on Váci Road, an environmentally friendly place with real 21st-century solutions.

The motto of this year’s ULINK meeting was ‘Let’s do something good!’ I interviewed four people and each of them introduced a non-governmental organisation. It is ULINK’s fundamental goal to use the connections of members for supporting good causes and helping each other. Those who were there had the chance to hear about new plans and well-working old concepts, what they had in common was the method, the approach. Just like in the business sphere, NGOs’ performance matters the most, but their PR and communication work and their network of connections can greatly contribute to their success.
One of the evening’s highlights was the raffle with superb prizes. No ULINK meeting takes place without excellent food being served: the chefs of Unilever’s food service business, FOOD Solutions cooked a delicious menu for the event’s participants. More and more people join the ULINK network, which also organises two professional programmes a year to present and former Unilever workers.
Connections are a value – use them! The top-level managers of more than 90 companies are ULINK members, covering practically all sectors of Hungary’ economic life. I do believe that the ULINK network is sustainable and it will last forever, and the generations to come will continue what we started 11 years ago. //
