Frozen barcodes

Barcodes and barcode-based identification, storage, transportation and logistics are all very important at Kedvenc JM Kft., a retailer and wholesaler of frozen meat and meat products. Informatics director Julianna Szauter told us that barcode is a very good solution for product identification but it doesn’t work in wholesale.

Kedvenc JM Kft. receives products from manufacturers in collective packaging, on which they use their own internal identifying barcode – and this doesn’t contain information on the manufacturer, so the wholesaler cannot use it. Since 30 tons of fresh products come in and go out in just 3-4 hours every night, 2,500-3,000 crates need to be identified in a short period of time. Kedvenc JM Kft. tries to convince partners to use global identification instead of an internal one, because it would make their work much easier. MultiSoft Kft. developed MobileNAV for Microsoft Dynamics NAV: it is recommended for those companies that would like to make remote work via mobile devices possible for their employees. This solution is of great help in storage and manufacturing processes too, with functions such as barcode scanning. The application has been successfully running on iOS and Android platforms at several companies, and from January 2013 the mobile ERP solution is also available on Windows Mobile and Windows CE devices.
