A decrease in inflation favors investors and can improve food security
The Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE) remains a strategic ally of the government, and the common goal is that domestic agricultural and food industry technologies can conquer the markets of as many countries as possible – announced Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó on Wednesday in Gödöllő.
According to the ministry’s statement, the head of the department stated at the opening ceremony of the MATE academic year that the government sees the university as an important resource and a stable pillar in the implementation of its pragmatic foreign policy strategy aimed at asserting national interests.

He underlined that Hungarian foreign policy has less ideological driving forces, and rather sets practical goals, for example the delivery of domestic products and technologies to foreign markets, or the bringing home of knowledge that is not yet present here, and the internationalization of higher education.
“And I think that if we consider these three objectives, then from here on the previous statement that we see MATE as an important pillar and resource in the implementation of the foreign policy strategy can already be considered true”
– he said.
In this regard, he pointed out that MATE is one of the most international universities in Hungary with its two hundred foreign students, many of whom are among the eight hundred students currently studying in Hungary under the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship program.
