IKEA is preparing for the Balaton season with mobile collection points
This summer, IKEA will once again open its Mobile Pickup Points at popular vacation spots on the southern shore of Lake Balaton in Hungary, specifically in Balatonboglár and Siófok. This marks the fourth year that IKEA offers this service, designed to make shopping convenient and cost-effective for holidaymakers in the area. Starting from May 3, 2024, customers can pick up their pre-ordered IKEA products at these locations, significantly reducing the delivery costs.
Peter Tichý, manager of the IKEA store in Soroksár, highlighted that the pickup points have been well-received in the past, prompting the company to provide this service at Lake Balaton for the fourth consecutive year. The initiative aims to expand product accessibility and offer a homey shopping environment.
Delivery charges vary based on the total weight of the ordered packages, with specific rates set for different weight categories, and a special reduced rate for IKEA Family members. It’s important to note that the IKEA vehicles are only available at the designated pickup times and locations, with no possibility for pickup outside these specified times.
IKEA collaborates with the service provider Gebrüder Weiss to operate these mobile pickup points, similarly to other regional locations across Hungary.
