The Gundel-award winners of the year
The Hungarian Catering Industry Board held its traditional Awards Committee meeting on September 23 – Károly Gundel’s birthday. For the 9th time this year, the profession has decided on the Károly Gundel awardee.

The honorees with MVI president Lásztló Kovács
The 19 members of the Awards Committee selected the person they found worthy of the “profession’s Kossuth Award” from 11 candidates. The committee awarded the 2022 Károly Gundel Award to television presenter Marcsi Borbás for his gastronomic and tradition-preserving activities, and to János Macsinka, the owner of Macok Bisztró in Eger, for his catering work.
The award ceremony will take place on Sunday, October 16 at noon at the MVI Gala Dinner in the Gundel Restaurant.
