FDA claims plant-based milk labels should feature nutritional differences
Plant-based milk alternatives can be labelled as “milk,” but the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recommends that these drinks place nutritional information on their packaging, so that consumers can compare their nutrition content with that of dairy milk. Studies conducted by FDA have revealed: consumers are not confused by plant-based products labelled “milk,” but many of them don’t have accurate knowledge about nutrients in plant-based milk.
