Auchan is the winner of the Large Green Company of the Year and the Value and Quality Grand Prize
In recent days, Auchan Hungary has received two significant recognitions. For its systematically implemented sustainability measures, it became the Large Green Company of the Year at the Green Awards, and its premium own-brand dairy product line received the Value and Quality Grand Prize and the right to use the trademark advertising the award.

Sustainability is the goal
The Value and Quality Grand Prize Tender was announced for the fifth time in 2022. The product or service that wins the award is also entitled to the use of a trademark that certifies high quality. The purpose of the tender is to promote the production of goods of outstanding quality and high added intellectual value that are competitive on the international market. Auchan’s premium own-brand dairy products, which are made at Martontej, have now won this grand prize. In addition to milk, the product line includes sour cream, butter, kefir, mascarpone, and various lump and Trappist cheeses. The Auchan own-brand dairy products produced by Martontej are produced directly in the dairy sector, and all this is done using 100% green energy, so the supermarket chain can offer its customers a completely sustainable product line as part of their Farm to Table program.
In addition to the product award, Auchan was also awarded with a prestigious corporate award, winning the Green Company of the Year title at the Green Awards. With this, they recognized the sustainability steps they have taken consistently since 2019, which include the design of the offer and the gradual replacement of packaging materials with environmentally friendly ones, as well as making the operation of the stores more sustainable. The most significant measure of the past period was the removal of single-use plastic bags from the fruit and vegetable and bakery departments, which the company was the first to do on the market. Store operations are made more energy efficient by downsizing, installing e-chargers and replacing large refrigeration equipment with modern ones.
