German retail sales are expected to grow at the end of the year

Professional representation of German retail companies expects an increase in Christmas turnover
In addition to the transport problems in each product category, further developments in the coronavirus pandemic and rising inflationary pressures may be a risk factor for the 112 billion euros in holiday sales, according to HDE.
The past two months have been more important than ever for many retail companies due to closures in the first half of the year. “More than a fifth of souvenir turnover traditionally falls in the last two months of the year, November and December,” pointed out Stefan Genth, director of HDE (Handelsverband Deutschland).
