The market challenges caused by the drought, wartime inflation and duty-free Ukrainian products have created extraordinary conditions in agriculture, therefore we will open up the use of agricultural and rural development resources of about HUF 2,900 billion to the countryside by 2027 – declared Dr. Márton Nobilis, the State Secretary responsible for the food industry and trade policy of the Ministry of Agriculture, at a farmers’ forum in Nagyvázsony on Tuesday.

The Hungarian government provides 80% additional national support for European Union rural development resources. The tenders to be announced will provide opportunities for small, medium and large farms alike. In the case of all support schemes, we conduct extensive professional consultations, we ask for the proposals of all relevant professional organizations and institutions, he added.

Dr. Márton Nobilis explained that the first calls for tenders are due to be announced at the beginning of the year, and the first projects related to forest management will appear

The first tender package for agricultural and food industry investments is expected to be published in March 2023, which includes calls to support investments in the food industry, feed industry, horticulture and animal husbandry. We also want to strengthen animal husbandry, as we see that this can be the biggest profit for the Hungarian agriculture and food industry, and the commercial chains should also be encouraged in the direction of bringing as many local products to the shops as possible, he added.
