SPAR became the Fresh Meat Retailer of the Year
Two of SPAR Hungary’s stores also received prestigious recognition in the Store of the Year 2024 professional competition, and the store chain also won the title of “Fresh Grocers of the Year 2024”. In addition, the company was ranked high on the list of HVG and Planet Fanatics’ Network, which ranked large companies based on sustainability, social responsibility and corporate governance (ESG) aspects.
“SPAR has been present in Hungary for more than 30 years, the 641 owned and franchised stores belonging to the store chain provide a living for a total of 17,000 employees. Innovation is of strategic importance to our company, and it also appears in product development, investment policy and workforce management. We are proud that several of our initiatives, products and businesses have been recognized with prestigious professional awards in the past period”

Shop of the Year 2024 competition: SPAR won
SPAR Hungary won the Store of the Year 2024 competition with outstanding results among retail chains. In the supermarket category, the SPAR supermarket on Görgey út in Újpest won the gold medal. The store, located a few minutes from Újpest-Központ, got a completely new look in 2023 and its interior was also renewed.
INTERSPAR No. 5230 in Debrecen won in the hypermarket category. In November 2023, SPAR opened the second INTERSPAR hypermarket in the county seat of Hajdú-Bihar. Thanks to the HUF three billion investment, the city has been expanded with a store where people who live here or go to work in the city can find not only a wide selection of food, but also electronics, clothing, gardening tools and toys.
