GMO-free labeling may come after the approval of the European Commission
We still need to wait a few months for the introduction of the GMO-free labeling. The “GMO-free production” trademark will be put on food and feed after the approval of the European Commission that is expected to take place in the first half of the year. Among the animal products more and more items will be in this circle, after increasing the amount of domestic GMO-free feed – Magyar Idők wrote.
For the approval of the European Commission normally three months have to be waited, but if the Committee or a Member State objects to the draft, the process can be extended by another three months – Nagy István, Parliamentary Minister of State of the Ministry of Agriculture told Magyar Idők.
