The European Commission has presented the main principles on the common EU agricultural policy
On Wednesday, the European Commission presented its proposals on the main principles of the common EU policy on agriculture, focusing, among other things, on giving Member States wider powers on how and where to invest funds from the common agricultural policy in order to meet environmental protection, climate change and ambitious common goals for sustainability.
Jyrki Katainen, EU Commissioner for Jobs, Growth, Investments and Competitiveness, said at the presentation on the main principles of the common EU agricultural policy that through simplification of legislation and a more flexible approach, the committee’s proposals will ensure that the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) to bring real results in the field of the support of farmers and to define the direction of the sustainable development of EU’s agriculture.
