The EU has increased the allocation for the promotion of agricultural products
The European Commission has increased the amount of support to promote the European agricultural products within the EU and around the world to 169 million euros (about 52.4 billion forints) this year – the EU commission announced.
According to the information, the amount announced in the call for proposals for co-financing of the programs is 27 million euros higher than in 2017. Programs can range from general nutrition campaigns to specific market areas to a wide range of sectors.
Phil Hogan, Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, said that about two-thirds of the fundings available would be used to promote EU food products in non-EU countries, especially where European agri-food exports could increase significantly, such as Canada, Japan, China, Mexico and Colombia.
