The rain affected the pálinka distilleries badly
The largest damage occured in the the strawberry, cherry, peach and sour cherry crop.
During the wekend, owners of nearly twenty distilleries talked about the damages of the bad weather conditions. "The flowering was very good, but this was followed by a cold windy and rainy weather, which affected the crop badly. The fruit trees do not like standing in the water and the high groundwater, also did not help the harvest" – said Piros László, Presidential Advisor of the National Alliance of Food Processors (ÉFOSZ) – reports Origo.
