According to Equilor, the economy could grow by 4.5 percent this year
In the first half of the year, domestic consumption will push up economic growth, after which external demand may have a positive effect on the data with the recovery of supply chains, so growth may reach 4.5 percent this year and 3.8 percent next year, said senior analyst Varga Zoltán, Equilor Investment Zrt. at a press conference in Budapest on Wednesday.
Achieving a general government deficit below 5 percent would require tighter fiscal policies than at present; this year, the deficit is expected to be 5.5 percent of GDP, he said. (MTI)
