The EP has adopted a food safety rule
At its plenary session in Strasbourg, the European Parliament adopted new rules to enhance the reliability, transparency and objectivity of the Union’s food safety risk assessment process, so that future reports with unfavorable test results can not be kept secret – the EU Parliament said.
The new rules, adopted by 603 votes in favor, 17 against and 27 abstentions, create a common European public database of ordered studies to prevent companies applying for authorization to manufacture or distribute their products from discouraging studies that are unfavorable to them. (MTI)
