The volume of retail sales in Romania increased by four percent
The volume of Romanian retail sales increased by 4 percent in the first five months of the year, compared to the same period of last year – the Romanian National Statistics Institute announced on Friday.
The increase is mainly due to the 9.3 percent increase in the sales of food, beverages and tobacco products and due to the growth of fuel sales by 6.7 percent. The non-food sales declined by 1.4 percent. In May, the retail sales volume increased by 3.1 percent on an annual basis, compared to the fifth month of 2014. (MTI)
