The lowest plum yield in the last twenty years is expected in Hungary
According to preliminary estimates, a plum harvest of only 23 to 32 thousand tons is expected in Hungary this year, which is well below the weakest harvest of the last twenty years in 2007 – agrarszektor.hu wrote. The negative weather effects of the year 2020 resulted that many plantations have absolutely no harvestable yield. It is a pleasure, however, that, on the basis of current information, the quality of the fruit promises to be good overall.
Based on the 2020 plum yield forecast prepared within the cooperation of the FruitVeB Hungarian Fruit and Vegetable Interprofessional Organization, the Horticultural Department of the National Chamber of Agriculture and ÉKASZ, the lowest plum yield in twenty years seems to be expected in Hungary this year – the product council wrote.
