The future of the food industry
The verticum of the entire food chain has big problems, despite the fact that the global economic crisis did not shaken the sector so much, as the other industries – states Biczó Péter, the director of Pricewaterhouse-Coopers.
Of course, the crisis has a very significant negative impact; the decline in real wages results in buying cheap products, where the trader's own branded products, or the import products of the discount chains are dominating. Although the own-branded products are manufactured partly by Hungarian food processors, this cannot mean a long-term strategy for the Hungarian food processing industry – expounds Világgazdaság Online, Biczó Péter’s article.
