Sales prices in the food industry were 5.9 percent lower than last April
In April of this year, industrial producer prices were on average 2.0 percent lower compared to a year earlier. Domestic sales prices fell by 5.0 percent, export sales by 0.4 percent, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Friday.
Compared to the previous month, domestic sales prices fell by 0.3 percent, export sales prices by 1.2 percent, so industrial producer prices were overall 0.9 percent lower.
In April, compared to April 2023, prices of domestic sales in the manufacturing industry, which represented a weight of 60.0 percent, increased by 0.4 percent, and in the energy industry (electricity, gas, steam supply, air conditioning) with a weight of 38.6 percent, they fell by 15.3 percent. Sales prices in the food industry were 5.9 percent lower than last April.
Among the intended groups of sectors, domestically, prices in the energy and re-use sectors fell by a combined 7.6 percent, in those producing investment goods they rose by 5.3 percent, and in those producing consumer goods they decreased by 1.2 percent year-on-year.
