Tesco and Nestlé join forces with the Food Bank to fight poverty
Between September 29 and October 12, Nestlé and Tesco are again announcing a joint campaign to support the work of the Hungarian Food Bank Association, in the framework of which Nestlé will support the activities of the Food Bank with one percent of the value of specified products purchased in domestic Tesco hypermarkets, and Tesco will double the amount . The organization primarily spends the money collected on logistics, that is, it delivers packages made of saved food to those in need.
All Tesco hypermarkets in Hungary participate in the promotion, so customers from all over the country can support the food rescue work of the Food Bank by purchasing, among other things, sweets, coffee, baby food, pet food, seasonings, sauces, soup powders and other products. The complete list of brands and products participating in the campaign is available on the Nestlé Hungária website. For every HUF 1,000 grant, the Association delivers a food package worth HUF 30,000, composed of saved food, to those who really need help.
“We are constantly in partnership with Nestlé and Tesco, they have been supporting our work for years with promotions similar to the current one. With the supporter promotion organized last year, they contributed HUF 10.1 million to feeding people and families in need, to whom we were able to deliver 108,000 food packages. It is a great help for us that we can give even more to the needy in cooperation with our corporate partners. I hope that as many customers as possible will contribute to this in the next two weeks”
– said Balázs Cseh, president of the Hungarian Food Bank Association.
