The Food Bank rescued 11 thousand tonnes of food last year
About 11,000 tonnes of food were saved from destruction and delivered to the needy last year by the Hungarian Food Bank Association – the organization announced on Thursday.
As reported, more than 550 truckloads of foods rescued last year came from manufacturers and dealers. The total value of rescued products reaches 7.5 billion forints and nearly 300,000 people in need have been helped every day, many of whom receive daily care. Saved foods include bakery products, vegetables, fruits, dairy products, meat, canned food, sweets and other long-term foods. (MTI)
