The greatest wealth disparities are in the United States
Among OECD member countries, the most unequal distribution of wealth among the population can be found in the United States – OECD’s study reveals.
According to the study of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) released on Tuesday, the richest 10 percent of the households owns more than 75 percent of the wealth in the United States, while the richest 5 percent owns 63 percent. The richest one percent owns 35 percent of the wealth, while the poorest three-fifths (the first three quintiles) own only less than two percent of the population’s wealth. (MTI)
