Auchan has expanded the range of foods offered for donations with vegetables and fruits
Auchan operates its program in 16 stores in Hungary with the help of the Hungarian Food Bank Association. As the result of the cooperation with the Food Bank Association, about 56,000 people could benefit from the nearly 520 tonnes of food donations last year.
Sustainability has a paramount importance in the daily operation of the Auchan chain. The cooperation with the Hungarian Food Bank Association was an important milestone in 2014. The purpose of the joint venture between the company and the Food Bank is to transport the remaining fresh bakery products and vegetables and fruits with the help of the Association to charitable organizations that support the diet of the needy including the elder, the families in need and the children in need.
