Auchan’s Eastern expansion
Last year Auchan invested EUR 138 million in Eastern Europe and Russia. In 2016 the retailer plans to spend EUR 195 million in Russia, mainly in Moscow. They intend to open 10 Auchan City hypermarkets and 40 Atak supermarkets. In Vietnam the chain will open 15 more 2,000-3,000m² stores – presently Auchan operates 3 supermarkets in Ho Chi Minh City.
