SZTE researchers have developed a procedure for measuring and predicting drought

The University of Szeged has developed a procedure for predicting and measuring drought
According to the announcement, quantifying the degree of drought is not an easy task, since the change in temperature and the precipitation and temperature conditions of the preceding period are at least as important in the development of the phenomenon as the amount of precipitation. Drought forecasting is at least as serious a challenge: a reliable rainfall forecast can be given for a maximum of 10-14 days. From the extent of the current drought and the expected amount of precipitation, the water shortage can only be predicted. (MTI)
