The British supermarket chain Asda and the gas station business EG Group may merge
The British supermarket chain Asda and the gas station business EG Group may merge according to plans being examined by the owners of the two companies, The Times of London reported on Saturday, as reported by Reuters.
The merger would create a retail giant worth between 11 billion and 13 billion pounds (approximately $13.6 billion to $16 billion), which would have more than 581 supermarkets, 700 gas stations and 100 convenience stores in Great Britain, VG wrote following the paper.
