Real wages at Aldi will increase this year
Aldi Hungary Food Bt. will increase wages by 8 percent in January, while Aldi International IT Services Kft. will increase wages by 6.5 percent, thus ensuring an increase in real wages this year, the Aldi group told MTI.
According to the announcement at the retail group with 6,500 employees, all employees will automatically be placed in a higher wage category with an increase in service time, so the wage increase is automatic.
As a result of the measure, the starting wage of newly entering store manual workers with an 8-hour work contract will increase to HUF 521,000 gross per month from January 1, 2025, while after at least 12 months of employment at Aldi, it will be HUF 541,000 gross. The highest wage available in this position is HUF 721,800 gross, they said.
The monthly salary of store managers working in an 8-hour employment relationship will increase to HUF 979,000 gross from January 1, and the highest salary available in the position will increase to HUF 1,511,800 gross.
The starting salary of logistics employees working in the Biatorbágy central warehouse will be HUF 577,000 gross from January 1, 2025, and their highest available benefit will be HUF 695,100 gross.
The department store chain will increase its reimbursement of car travel expenses to HUF 40 per kilometer from the beginning of this year, which is 33 percent higher than the tax-free reimbursement required by law.
According to their information, in addition to competitive wages, Aldi provides its employees with free health screenings, unlimited fresh fruits and vegetables daily, and discounted banking and telecommunications services in its 182 stores in the country, they announced.
At Aldi International IT Services Ltd., which employs about a thousand people, the gross salary for entry-level positions will be around 650,000 forints.
