New stores from Aldi are joining to food saving
The merchant chain continues to expand its partnership with Food Bank, so 72 stores will soon be participating in the program.
According to global statistics, 1.3 billion tons of food per year are lost, while 1.3 billion people are hungry. This is also a remarkable figure because from one quarter of the food lost in Europe and in the US the world’s hungry people could live well – Aldi said in its statement. They add that they want to change this via the cooperation with the Food Bank, which last year delivered over 93,000 tons of food donations to more than 300,000 people in Hungary in a value of more than 5.2 billion forints.
