Aldi recalls buckwheat flour contaminated with salmonella
Aldi is withdrawing Happy Harvest buckwheat flour contaminated with salmonella from the market, the best before date of the recalled product is November 20, 2025 – the National Trade and Consumer Protection Authority (NKFH) told MTI.
The product is manufactured by Mlinotest d.d. (Slovenia), the competent Slovenian authority informed the NKFH through the European Union’s food and feed safety system (RASFF) that the presence of salmonella was detected in Happy Harvest brand buckwheat flour during a company self-check – it was announced.
Some of the product also arrived in Hungary for Aldi Magyarország Élelmiszer Bt. The Hungarian authority contacted the company concerned to prevent the potentially contaminated product from reaching consumers
– it was informed.
The company, in cooperation with the NKFH, immediately took the necessary measures within its own jurisdiction, ensuring the withdrawal of the affected item from circulation and its recall from consumers.
The measures taken by the company, as well as the further fate of the recalled products – destruction or removal – are supervised by the NKFH, the statement said.
