Aldi has opened a cashless store in London
In order to enhance the shopping experience, Aldi opened its first cashless store in London for public testing on Tuesday. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that the store is packed with a modern, high-tech camera system that scans customers with the help of installed artificial intelligence and registers the products they take off the shelf.
But before that can happen, customers must install the Aldi Shop & Go app and enter the store only after their unique code has been scanned (= authentication). And you don’t have to queue at any checkout at the end of the purchase (product packaging), because when the customer leaves the store, they automatically receive the invoice / deduction – which one and exactly how the amount is deducted depends on which payment method you have chosen.
